I hereby authorize the School Board of Volusia County, according to arrangements with the Volusia United Educators (VUE), VTO or VESA, to deduct from my salary and to transmit to the Volusia United Educators such dues and assessments as annually certified by said union. I hereby waive all rights and claims to said monies so deducted and transmitted in accordance with this authorization and relieve the School Board and all of its officers from any liability thereto. This authorization shall remain in full force and effect while I am employed by this district, or until revoked by me in writing upon thirty (30) days written notice to the School Board and the Union (State Statute 447.303) Dues paid to VUE or VTO or VESA may not be deducted for federal income tax purposes; however, under limited circumstances, dues may qualify as a business expense.
