Authorization for PFT Membership Dues Withholding - Day-to-Day Substitute Teachers

I hereby authorize the School District of Pittsburgh to withhold from my earnings an amount sufficient to provide for the payment of the annual membership dues of the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers. The amount is to be withheld is 1% of any earnings I may accrue per pay period and is to be transmitted to the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers. Should I become a full-time substitute teacher or a regular teacher, my membership and applicable dues payments shall automatically convert to that status. This checkoff authorization and my membership shall continue in effect throughout the life of the Agreement in effect at the time of the execution of this checkoff authorization and shall remain in effect thereafter, unless revoked by me by certified letters, both to the Director of Finance of the School District of Pittsburgh and the Treasurer of the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, during a thirty (30) day period running between sixty (60) days and thirty (30) days immediately prior to the expiration date of this or any subsequent Agreement. [Union membership dues may not be deducted for Federal Income Tax purposes; however, under limited circumstances, such dues may qualify as a business expense. Union membership dues are deductible for Pennsylvania State Income purposes.]
